Bank of America customers in Florida might receive up to $500 in compensation thanks to a class action settlement.
By: El Diario NY
The lawsuit arose from an alleged violation of the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act (FCCPA), since the bank would have sent collection messages late at night to its account holders, something which the FCCPA prohibits.
Although Bank of America did not admit wrongdoing, it agreed to pay $500,000 to resolve the claims filed.
To be eligible for this compensation, Florida residents must have received messages, calls or other communications from Bank of America between 9:00 pm and 8:00 am in their local time zone since April 22, 2020 .
Eligible customers must submit a claim form that is valid until today, January 26, 2024, which is available on the bank’s website.
