During a flight from New York to New Delhi on November 26, a 72-year-old woman experienced a real nightmare. A passenger, completely drunk, urinated on him during the flight. She filed a complaint with the management of Air India.
The author of this odious behavior is not unknown, since it is Shankar Mishra, the vice-president of the Indian subsidiary of the Wells Fargo banking group. Hearing the news, the company immediately fired its leader. “Wells Fargo holds its employees to the highest standards of professional and personal behavior”indicated the company which judges “these extremely disturbing allegations”.
Wells Fargo has announced that it is cooperating with the police, who are still looking for Shankar Mishra. His lawyer claims that the ex-banker solved the problem by compensating the victim. “The WhatsApp messages between the defendant and the lady clearly show that the defendant had the clothes and bags cleaned on November 28”explained the lawyer in a press release.
The airline is also in the eye of the storm for its handling of the victim’s complaint. The Directorate General of Aviation has called Air India’s management to order, deploring a “unprofessional behavior” and one “systemic failure”.
