Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) announced on Friday the issuance of a commemorative silver coin with a face value of 250 dirhams on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the enthronement of His Majesty King Mohammed VI . This commemorative coin features the effigy of His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the obverse in addition to the mentions “محمد السادس” and “المملكةالمغربية”, with the vintages 2022-1444 at the bottom, BAM said in a press release.
On the reverse, the coin features the inscription “الذكرى الثالثة والعشرون لتربع جلالة الملك على العرش” at the top and the French translation adds “23rd anniversary of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI”. The center of the reverse of the coin contains the coat of arms of the Kingdom, a stylized image of the main gate of the Royal Palace of Rabat as well as the face value in Arabic numerals and letters namely, “مائتان وخمسون درهما 250”.
As for the technical characteristics of the coin, the alloy consists of 925% silver and 75% copper. The coin, which weighs 28.28 grams and has a diameter of 38.61 millimeters, is characterized by a fluted edge and a “Proof” type strike.
