The first match of the Sri Lanka-Bangladesh two-Test series is underway. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl in the match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 280 runs. Sri Lanka cruised to a respectable score on the strength of centuries from captain Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendes. Silva scored 102 runs in 131 balls. 12 fours and one six were born from the bat of the Lankan skipper. Kamindu Mendis scored 102 runs off 127 balls. The Lankan player scored 11 fours.
Sri Lanka’s batting collapsed from the start. Sri Lanka lost five wickets while scoring 57 runs. But from there, Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendes led Sri Lanka to a big total. Both of them built a great partnership of over 200 runs.

In the second innings, Taijul Islam scored 80 runs and 47 runs for Bangladesh. In the Lankan bowling, Kasun Rajitha and Lahiru Kumara took three wickets each and performed brilliantly. Vishwa Fernandes took both the wickets.
Currently, Bangladesh are 181 for eight in 48 overs.
