Several dead in a bus accident
At least 17 people died on Sunday and up to 25 others were injured.

The accident, which took place in the southern district of Shibchar, killed at least 17 people. 25 others were transferred to hospitals in the region. The police suspect the driver of having lost control of the vehicle at 8:00 a.m. (3:00 a.m. in Switzerland) and of having smashed through a railing of a recently built highway, causing the bus to fall ten meters lower.
Road accidents are frequent in Bangladesh, due to poor maintenance of vehicles and roads, but also to lack of driver training. Bangladesh Passenger Welfare Association says 9,951 people died in road accidents in the country last year, a record
