Bangladesh Cabinet Secretary Khandakar Anwarul Islam said that schools, which were public holidays only on Fridays in the country, will be closed on Saturdays from now on. Government systems are not able to hold the economic condition of the country which is collapsing due to fuel import. Diesel and kerosene are now more than 40 percent more expensive in the country.

The government is implementing the new law right after the petrol price was increased by over fifty percent. Due to the war in Ukraine, fuel import costs have increased and this has affected the economy of the country.
