Banger: Road offshoot planned for the KTM X-BOW GT2 / sports car

The racing-successful KTM X-BOW GT2 is given a street version. After race victories and winning the title in the GT2 European Series, the development of a model for the road follows.

The basis is the KTM X-BOW GT2, which celebrated its racing premiere in 2021. This is the latest version of the KTM X-BOW, which is developed and produced in different versions by KTM Sportcar GmbH. Models such as the KTM X-BOW GTX or the KTM X-BOW GT4 have established themselves as powerful emergency vehicles in racing series.

The developers work hand in hand with the protagonists from racing. In an extensive research and development process, the engineers and technicians are working on the street version of the KTM X-BOW GT2. The process includes performance tests, crash tests and the first test drives in Europe.

During development, the focus is, among other things, on lightweight construction, which is achieved, for example, through optimized components and an outer skin made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). When it comes to safety, the developers rely on the established carbon monocoque as a proven safety cell. A reinforced canopy provides additional protection for the occupants.

The KTM X-BOW GT2 is powered by the legendary five-cylinder turbo engine from Audi as a rear engine with a 7-speed direct shift gearbox (DSG). Features such as a limited-slip differential and pure rear-wheel drive also characterize the vehicle.

KTM Sportcar GmbH will announce when the street version of the KTM X-BOW GT2 will be launched and further details of the super sports car at a later date.
