The SC final between Villa Lidköping and Västerås got off to a great start. Already following eleven minutes, six goals had been scored.
Villa got off to a dream start to the match, scoring 1-0 before the first minute had finished. However, Västerås managed to quickly turn around and a few minutes later VSK had the lead.
“Very fast in the beginning”
But Villa were able to bounce back and the team had a 4–2 lead going into the second half.
– It was very fast at the beginning. We create chances and goals but we want to keep the ball more, says Matilda Öhman, who scored two of Villa’s goals in the first half.
Dream of Villa
Västerås reduced the lead early in the second half but Villa responded by expanding twice once more. Sanna Gustafsson’s 6–3 goal was a real delicacy from a free kick.
– Oh, what a goal! What a lift, so elegant, so beautiful. She deceives everyone, exclaims SVT Sports commentator Chris Härenstam.
Villa was then able to win the final match 7–4 and thus secure the club’s fourth straight SC gold.
