BANDUNG Jazz Orchestra opened the Gaia Music Festival: Jazz in The Valley 2024 at The Gaia Hotel Bandung, Saturday (3/8). They performed a number of songs Computer, Night and Day, and Sunny Side street.
They also performed the song Over the Rainbow which made the atmosphere romantic amidst the weather of Bandung City that had just been showered by rain. The songs Sway and The Chicken closed the performance of the Bandung Jazz Orchestra on the first day. Tomorrow the Bandung Jazz Orchestra will return to open the Gaia Music Festival on the second day.
What is unique about this performance is that the Bandung Jazz Orchestra performs on a platform with a valley as a backdrop. The audience can watch the show, listen to jazz music while enjoying the view of the hills and trees.
It is known that the Gaia Mustival event will be held for the third time. GMF is one of The Gaia Hotel’s flagship programs to realize the experience of guests both young and old can find entertainment, refreshment, and inspiration in the comfort of The Gaia Hotel Bandung facilities through music.
Novi Samodro as General Manager of Gaia Hotel Bandung confirmed that this year’s event was attended by 550 spectators from Java Island.
“Between the guests staying here and outside, the total capacity is around 550 people and thank God all the tickets have been sold out. Our goal is to give something to the people of Bandung. What can we give? One of them is we make this festival,” said Novi.

In addition to providing entertainment for the people of Bandung, the 2024 GAIA Music Jazz Festival also wants to be a place for young Bandung jazz music talents.
“We also want to provide a platform for the young. We provide a place and a stage for them. Currently, we are still focusing on jazz first. Soon there will be the Bandung Jazz Project. That is very good,” he explained.
“In Jakarta, it’s Java Jazz, in Bandung, it’s Gaia Jazz. So that people know right away. This is our third year of holding this event,” said Novi. (M-4)
