In this regard, Dr. Marwa Ibrahim, a clinical nutritionist, said that there is no harm in eating bananas when suffering from influenza and a cold, noting that it does not cause aggravation of the cough, except in one case.
Marwa added that bananas play a major role in accelerating the pace of recovery from influenza and colds, and the reason is due to their effective ability to strengthen the immune system.

The clinical nutritionist explained that bananas derive their ability to strengthen immunity from their high content of nutritional elements that help the body fight viruses, such as vitamin C and vitamin B.
She revealed that the condition in which bananas lead to an increase in coughing is when they are eaten in large quantities, because they contain a high percentage of sugars, which cause exacerbation of respiratory infections.

Rami pointed out that banana allergy is the health problem he is referring to, explaining that bananas contain proteins that stimulate the immune system in some people to produce more histamine, which causes an annoying set of symptoms, such as coughing.
