CHAIRMAN of the Organizing Committee for the 11th Golkar Party National Working Meeting and Congress 2024, Bambang Soesatyo alias Bamsoet, hopes that the definitive Golkar Party General Chairperson will be decided on Tuesday (20/8) evening. Currently, there is a single candidate for Golkar Party General Chairperson, namely ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.

“Because there is only one candidate, hopefully we can wrap it up tonight. Hopefully if necessary,” said Bamsoet at the opening of the 11th Golkar Party National Conference at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Tuesday (20/8).

Bamsoet said that the election of the general chairman candidate is impossible to be implemented. Because there is only one candidate.

“The presentation of the vision and mission of the candidate for general chairman and the next is the election of the general chairman will no longer take place because there is only one candidate for general chairman,” he said.

The MPR chairman said the activity could be continued with the delivery of the vision and mission. Then, continued with the inauguration and speech of the elected general chairman.

“Tonight we can wrap everything up and tomorrow we can just hold the inauguration if possible,” said Bamsoet.

The Golkar Party DPP accepted Bahlil Lahadalia’s registration as a candidate for general chairman (ketum) on Monday evening, for the agenda of electing the general chairman which will be held at the XI Golkar Party National Conference (Munas) on Tuesday (20/8).

Chairman of the Steering Committee of the 11th Golkar Party National Conference Adies Kadir said the registration files received from Bahlil were quite thick. According to him, Bahlil has received support from 469 voters in the Golkar Party. (P-5)
