Bambu Lab shows first results from collaboration in ecosystem

A while ago, Bambu Lab announced that it was going to build an ecosystem. The first results are now known: a new hotend for the popular desktop 3D printer developed by E3D together with engineers from the printer manufacturer. This new nozzle enables higher printing speed.

This new high-flow hotend delivers a 60% higher flow rate than the standard hotend in the brand’s filament printers. This increases the printing speed. E3D uses a hardened nozzle and the diamond coating, the E3DLC, in the new hotend. The new hotend is the result of collaboration between E3D and Bambu Lab. E3D produces the hotend exclusively for the two printer models.

Certified for X1 and P1

Both teams shared valuable know-how regarding the hotend, the printer and the thermal process of the materials. They thoroughly tested the final product. It will be officially integrated into all Bambu Lab software ecosystems and is certified for the X1 and P1 printer. By collaborating with other parties, the manufacturer wants to innovate more quickly and bring new products to the market.

Half of license proceeds go to charity

The manufacturer, which recently entered the market through a crowdfunding campaign, wants to transfer half of the license revenues it receives from the sale of the new hot end to the yet-to-be-established foundation that will bring out 3D printing talent. developing countries, such as model designers and local small businesses.
