The triumph of the popular “Vini” has been talked about for weeks. The Brazilian’s victory seemed certain when photos of the voting results appeared on the Internet, in which the “Royal” striker had a 54-point advantage over the second-placed Rodri from Manchester City. Rounding out the podium was another Real player, Jude Bellingham.
However, the French editorial office of RMC Sport claims that the order on the podium will be different – the prize will be awarded to the Spaniard, and the Brazilian will take second place. Only Bellingham’s position will not change.
According to reports, Fabrizio Romano, in solidarity with Vinicius, the Real delegation will not appear at the ceremony at the Chatelet Theater.
“No one from Real Madrid will take part in the ceremony. Neither Florentino Perez, nor Vini Jr, nor Carlo Ancelotti, nor Jude Bellingham,” reports the Italian journalist.
10 categories. From this year, the plebiscite is co-organized by UEFA
During the gala in the French capital, prizes will be awarded in 10 categories: the best footballer, the best female footballer, the best young footballer (Rayomnd Kopa trophy), the best goalkeeper (Lev Yashin trophy), the best goalscorer (Gerd Mueller trophy), the best men’s and women’s team, the best coach of the men’s and women’s teams and an award for social and charitable involvement (Socrates Award).
“France Football” has been presenting its award since 1956. In 2010-15, the magazine and the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) jointly awarded one player the FIFA Ballon d’Or, but since 2016, plebiscites for the best players have been conducted separately again.
This year’s edition is the first one co-organized by UEFA. Only players and coaches who represent European clubs take part in the plebiscite.
Ballon d’Or 2024. When is the gala?

The Ballon d’Or 2024: A Night of Twists, Turns, and a Dose of Footballing Drama
Ah, the Ballon d’Or! The annual spectacle where football fans channel their inner conspiracy theorist and indulge in outrage that rivals any reality TV show. This year’s anticipation has been palpable, with “Vini” absolutely stealing the spotlight. If we thought reality TV was dramatic, try a Brazilian striker with a 54-point lead getting second place—now that’s entertainment!
The Rise and Controversy of Vini Jr.
Now, let’s dissect this delightful mess, shall we? Vini Jr. was riding high on his mounting popularity, boosted by a hefty lead over Rodri from Manchester City. That’s like running a marathon and seeing the finish line only to trip over your own shoelaces right at the end. Poor guy! And what’s the French media doing? They’ve decided to play the role of the kid in school who can’t resist telling the teacher when someone is having too much fun.
Reports suggest RMC Sport is throwing cold water on Vini’s victory parade and announcing Rodri will swing his way onto the top podium spot instead. Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham seems to be standing there, arms crossed, perfectly content in his third-place bubble. Honestly, it’s like watching a game of musical chairs, but everyone is just a bit upset that the music has stopped too soon!
The Real Madrid Snub
And guess what? In a show of solidarity—because nothing says team spirit like not showing up—Fabrizio Romano claims the entire Real Madrid delegation won’t be gracing us at the gala. Florentino Perez, Carlo Ancelotti, Jude Bellingham, and our dear Vini will all be conspicuously absent, probably plotting a revenge-themed Netflix documentary titled “How We Were Robbed.”
What’s On at the Gala?
The gala on October 28 is set to be a veritable buffet of honors, featuring 10 categories celebrating the very best of the footballing world. Not just any football, mind you; we’re talking about an evening that will possibly make or break careers! From the best player to the Socrates Award for charitable involvement, it’s like a night of the Oscars, but for people whose jobs revolve around kicking a ball.
France Football has been dishing out this accolade since 1956—yes, even before your grandmother was doing the twist! Between 2010 and 2015, they even had a brief dalliance with FIFA over a joint Ballon d’Or. But now? They’ve gone solo again, likely because, let’s face it, who doesn’t love a little drama?
Final Thoughts: The Waiting Game
So, as we count down the days to this footballing fecundity that will unfold at the Chatelet Theater, let’s wonder: will the golden trophy be snatched from its rightful claimant? Or will they stand united in protest, sipping cocktails and shaking their heads at this twist of fate? My bet? Expect tears, laughter, and some seriously awkward moments.
So if you’re wondering what to do on the night of October 28, grab some popcorn, turn on your TV, and tune into the most riveting drama to hit our screens. Forget Game of Thrones—this is the Ballon d’Or, and it promises to be just as intense!
