One deeply saddening incident occurred in​ Ubud’s popular Monkey Forest when a ⁢tree collapsed tragically‍ killing two tourists. F. Justine Christine,32,from France,and Kim Hyoeun,42,from South Korea,lost ⁣their⁤ lives in the⁤ accident. Kim’s family requested ⁣her ⁤cremation in Bali before returning to South ‌Korea‌ with her ashes. “The family has asked for⁢ the cremation. Afterward, ‌they ⁣will return to ​South Korea with her​ ashes,” said I Wayan Gede Sedana Putra, head of the Gianyar Tourism Office.

Craig Stewart, ‍a 56-year-old Australian, drowned while trying to save a German tourist⁤ at Balian ‍Beach in Tabanan. Additional fatalities included ⁤a 51-year-old American, Edward, found near Bingin Beach’s cliffs‌ in Badung, and Wang Suxue, a 51-year-old Chinese national who died​ while snorkeling at Nusa Penida’s ‍Manta Point. Tragedy also⁣ struck in August ​when a 23-year-old American, ‍Sebastiano, was found dead from suspected drowning at Villa ⁣Kajane Beach​ in ​Karangasem.An Italian tourist lost his ​life after falling ⁤from Villa‌ Gajah Mas waterfall in ‌Tabanan. in a heartbreaking incident, Angelina‌ Smith, a 47-year-old Australian tourist, and her⁢ partner, 50-year-old ⁣Luciano Kross from the Netherlands, were killed⁢ when a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall swept away their villa in Jatiluwih, Tabanan. These tragedies, along with the death of a 14-year-old ‍tourist from Uzbekistan swept away⁣ by strong ⁢currents at Kuta beach in‍ January, highlight the importance of caution and awareness while travelling in Bali.⁢ Tourists⁣ are urged to be​ mindful of their surroundings,follow safety guidelines,and remain⁢ aware of ⁢potential ‌risks especially in popular tourist destinations.
