THE National Awakening Party (PKB) will determine its official stance in the government of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and his Vice President, Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The group has actually outlined its direction for the future, but it has not been formalized by the party.
“This congress will institutionally decide on the PKB’s position towards the government of the elected president, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, although informally in various forums our general chairman has said that (PKB) is part of the government of Mr. Prabowo Subianto,” said Secretary of the PKB Congress Steering Committee, Syaiful Huda, at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Bali, Saturday (24/8).
Huda said his party would also discuss the party’s steps ahead of the change of President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) term of office to Prabowo. Political recommendations will be determined there.
“So in this Congress, one of them is to institutionalize the final political stance related to the PKB’s position towards the new government after Mr. Joko Widodo, which will be included in one of the political recommendation points of the two-day Congress,” said Huda. (J-2)
