The National Awakening Party (PKB) Congress in Nusa Dua, Bali, was demonstrated by hundreds of people. They all used attributions that read ‘PKB’.
Secretary of the PKB Muktamar Steering Committee Syaiful Huda said that his party had conducted an investigation into the demonstration. The results showed that the demonstrators were not cadres.
“The results of our investigation, they are not cadres and not PKB administrators. We also demand that they remove the PKB attribute clothes they are wearing, because they are not cadres and not PKB administrators,” said Huda Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Bali, Saturday (24/8).
Huda said they used PKB attributes illegally. That attitude harmed his party when the congress was held. “This action was deliberately intended to damage the image and atmosphere of the congress which has been running extraordinarily and there were no problems whatsoever because their action was an infiltration of the legal constitutional process of implementing this congress,” said Huda.
Huda regretted that the police gave them permission to demonstrate. Moreover, he continued, they were allowed to use party attributes even though they were not cadres. PKB asked the police to disband the demonstration. Huda suspected that they were there only to create chaos.
“We ask the police, Mr. Regional Police Chief, to directly mention this to the Chief of Police because they are planning to create chaos in this land of Bali that we love, we ask that the action be disbanded as soon as possible because it disturbs public order,” said Huda.

The police were also asked to find the actors who mobilized the protesters. If the Bhayangkara Corps moves slowly, Huda is worried that his group’s congress will be entered by infiltrators to riot at the event.
“This is the highest forum of the PKB party and there are indications of infiltration and even the potential to create chaos in the main event, therefore we ask that the intellectual actor be investigated thoroughly,” said Huda. (J-2)
