Larian seems to be hinting that the Xbox version of the game will launch sometime in 2024. Article: Ben Lyons – Gamereactor.cn The 1.0 release of Baldur’s Gate III has been all over the store. The PC version debuts on Thursday, August 3, followed by a PS5 release in early September. As for the Xbox Series version, Larian has confirmed it’s in development, but it’s taking longer than expected due to difficulties getting split-screen to work on the platform. As for how long fans will have to wait for the Xbox Series X/S to debut, a new tweet (or thread I guess these days) on Twitter…X hints that a 2024 launch could be around the corner. Michael Douse, Larian’s publishing director, said on X: “We’ve said many times in the past that the problem is working on split-screen for Series S, which takes more time, but it’s a work in progress. It’s A huge technical hurdle, but we couldn’t release games in the ecosystem without this feature.” Far from being exclusive, we don’t have an exclusivity agreement that prevents us from launching on Xbox. This is a technical obstacle. We couldn’t remove the split screen feature because we were obliged to start with feature parity, so went ahead and tried to get it to work. “We’ve had quite a few engineers working really hard to accomplish something that no other RPG of this size has been able to: seamless in and out co-op for Series S. We hope to have an update before the end of the year.https://twitter.com/Cromwelp/status/1685820707660275712That’s the very interesting last part, because saying “we want an update by the end of this year” suggests that the Xbox version won’t be ready until 2024. When do you think Baldur’s Gate III will be coming to Xbox consoles? Source: Gamereactor.cn
