Balanced draw in the Asian Challenge League

The tournament is set to see 18 clubs compete for the title of the first edition of the third-level men’s club competition.

The clubs participating in the group stage were divided into 5 groups, 3 groups in the western region, each comprising 4 clubs, in addition to two groups consisting of 3 clubs in the eastern region.

In the West Zone, India’s East Bengal have been drawn alongside Lebanon’s Nejmeh, Bangladesh’s Bashundhara Kings and hosts Bhutan’s Paro.

While the second group included the host Al-Arabi of Kuwait, Arkadag from Turkmenistan, Maziya Sports from the Maldives, and Abdish Atta from Kyrgyzstan.

On the other hand, Al-Ahly of Bahrain came in the third group, which also includes Al-Fotuwa of Syria, Al-Seeb of Oman, the host, and Hilal Al-Quds of Palestine.

In the East Zone, Group 4 included Shan United from Myanmar, Tainan City from Taiwan and Young Elephants from Laos, while Group 5 included Madura United from Indonesia, Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng from Cambodia and Falcons from Mongolia.

The official website of the Asian Federation stated that the group stage competitions will be held in a single-stage, divided league system, by gathering in one country, during the period from October 26 to November 2.

Eight clubs will qualify for the quarter-finals, with the top two teams in each of the three groups in the West Zone and the best second-placed team qualifying, while the top two teams in each group in the East Zone will qualify. The quarter-finals will be played over two legs from March 5 to 13, 2025.

The semi-final matches, which will be played over two legs, will be held from 9 to 17 April 2025, with the final match to be held on 10 May 2025.
