BAJAFASH, a festival known for its innovative blend of jazz music and fashion, is back with its sixth edition. This event will be held from 1 to 3 November 2024 at the Semar Stage, Panbil Nature Reserve, Batam.

With the theme “Elevate Your Senses,” Bajafash this time will present an experience that combines various genres of jazz music with fashion in a unique natural setting.

This year, Bajafash presents various colors of jazz music including Jazz Choir, Malay Jazz, Latin Jazz, Indian Jazz and Mandarin Jazz. Big names such as Andien, NonaRia, Rio Moreno Latin Quartet, and The Shangs Sister are ready to light up the stage with their performances. Apart from music, this event also presents trunk shows from a number of fashion designers who highlight local Indonesian wisdom and package it with a touch of global design.

With collaboration from the Indonesian Fashion Chambers (IFC), Bajafash offers a stage for young designers to show their creativity inspired by local culture. These works will show how traditional elements can be integrated with international fashion trends.

Not just about entertainment, Bajafash also shows its commitment to sustainability. In collaboration with the World Clean Day (WCD) movement, this festival continues to promote the concept of environmentally friendly events.

During the event, various environmentally friendly initiatives will be implemented, such as processing plastic waste into new products, utilizing food waste into biopore compost, and recycling paper waste. All this is done to ensure that Bajafash does not leave behind a significant trace of waste.

Indina Putri Fadjar, founder of the Bajafash Community, stated that this event was a combination of entertainment, creativity and environmental awareness. “We not only want to present interesting entertainment, but also want to invite the public to care for the environment together through this event,” said Indina.

Bajafash is also enlivened with various other interactive activities, such as jazz workshops, creativity competitions for children, and talk shows about the creative economy and the environment. The UMKM bazaar supported by Bank Indonesia (BI) Riau Islands and local designer pop-up shops will give visitors the opportunity to enjoy quality local products, from handicrafts to fashion. (H-2)
