“It goes without saying that I didn’t get a penny from anyone. Only people who sent me a peso and wrote ‘garca’, ‘sorete’,” said Iván Safar, whose weak arguments tried to downplay the seriousness of the controversial maneuver.
He also clarified that he subsequently contacted Mercado Pago’s technical support to change the alias or delete the account, but he would have received the response that the operation might not be carried out until 24 hours had passed.
“I understand the anger, but I would never take advantage of something like that., I am not a person who lacks money or is in bad shape financially. Thank God nothing happened in my house or to any loved one…”, explained Safar and then referred to the “threats” that he received as a result of the scandal.
“I am receiving threats of all types, kinds and colors. I have to come out and clarify that it is all a mistake,” said Iván Safar.
In parallel, Valeria Rodríguez’s son published a post on his networks in which he apologized for what happened and described the suspicious situation as “a misunderstanding.”
