CHENNAI – The customs officials were shocked when they checked the suspicious luggage on the Thai Airways flight that arrived at the Chennai International Airport from Bangkok. The inspection was when the parcel was seen moving. Jumping out of the first package was the De Brasa monkey, which is only found in Africa. The monkey was kept in a box filled with chocolates.

When I opened the next box, I saw no retail people. 15 king cobras! Five pythons in another box. In the last bag were two undersized Aldabra tortoises. Importing live animals into India is illegal, so they were sent back to Bangkok. Customs started investigating the person who was supposed to receive the parcel in Chennai.
