At the National Assembly plenary session on the 30th, Rep. Bae Hyun-jin, a member of the People’s Strength, criticized and pointed at National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seok.
Rep. Bae protested when the amendment to the Prosecutor’s Office Act, one of the Democratic Party’s ‘completely deprived of the prosecution’s investigation authority’, was enforced.
Rep. Bae went up to the stage following applying for a speech in the proceedings following the ‘decision on the ad hoc session’ was dealt with in the followingnoon.
Rep. Bae omitted the greeting to Chairman Park and proceeded with his remarks.
Rep. Bae said, “I will refuse to greet with a will of protest with the will of the people in mind that the Speaker of the National Assembly, who should be an independent, was an outright member of the Democratic Party and abetted the suicide of the National Assembly.”
Rep. Bae expressed his intention to protest the visit to the Speaker’s Office before the start of the plenary session, but expressed dissatisfaction with Chairman Park’s refusal to meet.
He argued, “In the process, even though we said ‘Please stop,’ (Chairman Park) stepped on your lovely body over our lawmaker and went up to the Speaker’s seat, kicking women with shoes.”
Then he pointed at Chairman Park, saying, “Is this the democracy you are talking regarding?”
Rep. Bae’s high-level criticism continued.
Rep. Bae demanded that “Chairman Park resign”, saying, “Is it the job of the head of democracy to enjoy two years of riding in a car in a protocol amid the constant rumors that it might be the largest overseas tour in history?”
Prior to the plenary session, some lawmakers from the People’s Power visited the chairman’s office and expressed their intention to protest. In the process, there was a physical clash between the National Assembly officials and the People’s Power lawmakers. People’s Strength Rep. Yang Geum-hee was trampled on while falling and an ambulance crashed.
