Badstuber on Davies: I would like him to express his commitment to FCB

There is no denying that Bayern Munich has had a lot of problems in recent months. Another former player of “Die Roten” commented on the crisis in the capital of Bavaria.

Holger Badstuber, because we are talking about him, does not fully agree with the accusation that FCB players lack the hunger to win.

– This should be considered individually. I don’t see it in players like Manuel Neuer or Thomas Mueller. In recent years, many young players have joined the team who have not yet won so many titles. They are definitely not “satiated”. Therefore, I do not accept this accusation. However, at times it seemed that this constant hunger, this absolute determination, was not present as it should be.

The former Bayern defender does not hide that Max Eberl has a really difficult task ahead of him.

– This is not an easy task for those responsible, so we must approach it with humility. Bayern currently does not have the shine it once had. It may happen that we no longer get the player we wanted. Max Eberl now has to prove that he is able to take this project in the right direction.

Badstuber also did not hesitate to comment on the confusion surrounding Alphonso Davies, who has been negotiating the terms of a new contract for many months and – according to media reports – is expected to receive EUR 20 million per season. The 35-year-old is clearly disgusted by the Canadian’s actions.

– There is some confusion in Bayern’s pay structure. It’s unusual for a player like Davies, whose development has stopped, to demand so much… Bayern gave him a chance to achieve this status. I would like him to express his commitment to Bayern. He hasn’t done that yet. It is obvious that he is considering offers from other clubs and that he wants to leave.

The interview for “Sky” included a question about the recent rumors that Julian Nagelsmann was to be Thomas Tuchel’s successor. Badstuber seems to be against this solution.

– The way both parties communicated during their previous breakup was not very professional. The thought that Nagelsmann’s return after 15 months would be too early and incomprehensible to me.
