FILM Badarawuhi Di Desa Penari (Dancing Village: The Curse Begins), a prequel to the best-selling Indonesian film of all time, KKN di Desa Penari, aired in the United States (US).

After holding a gala premiere on April 4 2024 in Los Angeles, Dancing Village: The Curse Begins will be broadcast in 20 US states starting Friday (26/4).

Dancing Village: The Curse Begins was screened in the US following MD Pictures collaborated with Lionsgate to distribute the film exclusively.

MD Pictures CEO and Founder Manoj Punjabi said this premiere marked an important milestone in MD’s mission to present Indonesian films on the international stage.

“Badarawuhi Di Desa Penari (Dancing Village: The Curse Begins) airs on April 26 in the United States. This collaboration is a leap forward for the Indonesian film industry on the global stage. “We believe that films can transcend language and cultural barriers, and we are confident that through this collaboration we can showcase the richness of Indonesian culture to American and foreign audiences,” said Manoj, through an official statement, Saturday (27/4).

It is known that in 2022, MD Pictures will release the film KKN in Penari Village, which currently holds the record as the highest-grossing Indonesian film of all time, with the number of viewers reaching more than 10 million. (Z-1)
