Bad weather, Meloni chairs ER meeting: 20 million will be allocated in cabinet

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni today chaired a videoconference meeting with Emilia Romagna on the emergency caused by the bad weather that hit the region. The meeting was attended by the Minister for Civil Protection and Marine Policies Nello Musumeci, the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council Alfredo Mantovano, the acting Vice President of the Emilia Romagna Region Irene Priolo, the Head of the Civil Protection Department Fabio Ciciliano and the Government Commissioner for Reconstruction in the Areas Affected by the Flood in Emilia Romagna, Tuscany and Marche Francesco Paolo Figliuolo.
President Meloni reiterated the Government’s solidarity with the population affected by the violent natural disasters of recent days and acquired the most recent information on the situation of the displaced and the progress of the relief efforts. Furthermore, the President assured that, as soon as the request for a declaration of a state of emergency by the Emilia Romagna Region reaches the Government, a Council of Ministers will be convened to allocate 20 million euros to meet the first needs and to restore essential services, and that further allocations will be made available following the outcome of the reconnaissance following the emergency.
