Bad weather expected this Monday: yellow alert in Flanders, Brussels and two Walloon provinces, 1722 activated

This number is used to request the intervention of the fire brigade in situations that do not endanger human life. The goal is to avoid overloading the 112 emergency centers. If a life is potentially in danger, it is indeed 112 that must be contacted for an emergency intervention.

1722 can be reached by telephone but also by the electronic counter, deemed the most direct means by the FPS Interior. This number is only activated temporarily, when bad weather is announced.

The MRI has triggered a yellow thunderstorm alert, valid Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Flanders, Brussels as well as in the provinces of Hainaut and Walloon Brabant. It forecasts potentially intense and thundery showers locally, with a risk of cumulative precipitation of more than 10 liters per square meter in one hour. Gusts of up to 80 km/h and hail might also fall.
