Filming “Bad Sisters” season two proved to be particularly challenging for Horgan after her loss. Certain scenes, filmed after her father’s passing, held a poignant weight that made them challenging to watch. “Mark, he said that he loved the episode, but (I) found it really difficult to watch. And I was saying, well, as everything I was feeling went into those scenes, you know? So in some ways, it’s great and it’s cathartic and you can connect with your feelings and you can express them. But in other ways, it feels so weird as essentially, you’re using your emotions, and it feels strange and a bit wrong,” she shared.

She delved into the unique demands of her acting profession, describing the intensity of inhabiting “weird muscle memory” when portraying intense emotions. “this can be a bit unhealthy, this job,” she confessed. “It was weird going back to work. we had to shut down the production because I couldn’t.” Her experience illuminated the powerful intersection between personal experience and artistic expression, highlighting the delicate balance of vulnerability in creative work.
Beyond the raw emotions surrounding her father’s passing, Horgan also shared a positive advancement: a newfound confidence she feels after turning 50. “There’s a confidence there that I really appreciate,” she admitted. “because it’s not great to be walking around feeling like you’ve sort of snuck in and no one’s noticed so far that I’m winging it.It’s exhausting. It’s much better to feel like you should be in those rooms.”
Horgan, who was previously married to businessman Jeremy Rainbird and separated in 2019, also revealed she is currently in a relationship.
“Bad Sisters,” a gripping series about a close-knit group of sisters who go to remarkable lengths to protect each other, has garnered critical acclaim, taking home a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress for Anne-Marie Duff and Best Drama Series. Horgan’s remarkable career includes acclaimed shows like “Catastrophe,” “Divorce,” and “Motherland.” Her ability to seamlessly blend humor and poignant moments into compelling narratives continues to resonate with audiences globally.
