Bad news for cricket fans, PSL 9 likely to be shifted to Dubai

There are indications that the ninth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be shifted to another country.

According to sources, an important meeting of the PSL Governing Council has been called on September 25. The meeting is being called at the extreme insistence of the franchisees.

Sources say that this will be the first meeting under the chairmanship of PCB Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf.

According to the sources, the franchise owners are upset because of the sluggishness of the PSL affairs, while the franchisees are unhappy regarding not even accounting for PSL 8.

Sources say that the PSL owners have not been consulted for the appointment of the PSL head and while the PSL window is in February-March, the franchises have not been contacted for the dates either.

According to sources, PSL franchises are facing difficulties due to UAE and South African leagues, while franchisees are worried due to registration of foreign cricketers with other leagues.

Sources say that there are indications from PCB to change the venue of PSL 9, PCB is thinking of holding PSL in Dubai due to expected election and local administrative expenses, however franchisees PS. LK is not in favor of change of venue.

According to the sources, the franchise owners are of the opinion that it was very difficult to bring PSL to Pakistan, now it will be harmful to take it out once more, PSL has to have big contracts which is a challenge.
