Game News Bad news, a PlayStation game will close its servers
Bad news for players who love golf games… While EA is constantly pushing back the release date of its PGA Tour sports simulation, Sony is today revealing that one of its flagship licenses will close the doors of its servers.
Everybody’s Golf puts the club under the door
This is not the first time that a PlayStation game has closed its servers… Indeed, we still remember the closure of the Online functionalities of Killzone 2 or even of Killzone 3from LittleBigPlanet and more recently from SingStarfrom DRIVECLUB and of Grand Touring 6. Still, it always does a little something when Sony announces that a new title is going to shut down its servers. Moreover, today, it is the turn of a completely different license from the PlayStation brand to give up on its Online services.
In effect, Sony Interactive Entertainment today announced the closure of the online servers of Everybody’s Golf, the golf game that was first released on PlayStation 4 on July 3, 2017. If you want to enjoy the game’s Online features one last time, then you have to hurry, as the shutdown will take place on September 30, 2022.
Everybody’s Golf online servers will be shut down on September 30, 2022. All online functionality (including online multiplayer modes) will cease on that date. Sony
From October 1, 2022, therefore, it will no longer be possible to participate in international tournaments, to join friends Online to play a match, to take a look at the rankings or to acquire many trophies such as “Online Debut” , “Walking Encyclopaedia” and the Platinum “Push it to the Limit!”
Game still available?
Despite this bad news, note that Everybody’s Golf will still be available for sale from October 1, 2022 (we can imagine a significant price drop from this date) and that all offline features will be included. This means that offline Tournaments will still be playable, as well as the various courses, namely Eagle City Golf Club, Alpina Forest Golf Course, Kanaloa Beach Golf Resort, Vortex Valley Golf Course and Imperial Garden.
