Bad for gossipers, good for cheaters: WhatsApp launches Chat Lock, what is it for?

WhatsApp started rolling out a privacy feature called “Chat Lock” o “Chat Blocking” that allows you to put a lock on the conversations, and thus avoid possible snooping. The feature had been discovered in April in a test version of the messenger, as we told on the occasion in TN Tecno.

The new option adds a layer of privacy in meta messenger. The proposal is simple: block access to specific chats by means of a password or biometric data (with fingerprint or facial recognition).

With this change in the application, it is possible to choose conversations that you want to keep secret, placing a “padlock” that can only be opened with the “key” that the user has.
