The first 2022 recruit school started this Monday in a staggered manner with special protective measures, pandemic requires. But the online back-to-school season had a new “bug”: some 1,000 recruits encountered problems logging into online training.

Online teaching

Nearly two thirds of the 11,200 recruits were expected at the barracks on Monday, not without having completed a Covid screening test before showing up, the army said on Monday. The remaining third will join them at the end of the month.

This third party therefore made his return to school remotely, following an online teaching and sports program. Recruits who test positive will also follow their training remotely, as long as their state of health allows it. And a third of the approximately 2,500 executives also completed the first of the three weeks of the preparatory course remotely.

But, as in January 2021, the start of the online school year was disrupted by technical issues. Some 1,000 recruits had problems connecting to the learning platform, army spokesman Stefan Hofer told Keystone-ATS, confirming information from “20 Minuten”.

Password problem

For security reasons, the initial password for the first identification (First Login) was adapted last December, explained the spokesperson. However, accounts created before this date were preconfigured with an old initial password, which might subsequently cause connection problems.

However, recruits received a letter at the beginning of the year explaining the procedure for requesting a new password. Instructions are also available on the e-learning home page.

As a reminder, at the start of the 2021 school year, two security flaws had been discovered on the learning platform. It turned out that users might view other users’ data and that data such as email addresses or home numbers of other users might be accessed.
