Safe routes to school are a top priority for traffic police every day – especially when school starts. Therefore, around 500 police officers will be deployed to protect school routes when school starts in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland. They are supported by senior students, parents, grandparents and community service staff. Most primary schools have developed school route plans.
