O Airbnb is launching a category that harks back to the app’s origins. It’s regarding “Rooms” (“Rooms” in Portuguese), which focuses on renting rooms through the platform. In addition, the session comes with features that allow the user to view more information regarding the host.
This function was called “Host Passports” (or “Host Passports“) that can be of great help when searching for a rental alternative. After all, with it it is possible to know if the person has confirmed their identity, email and phone number with the application.
The passport can also provide various other data such as reviews, and how long they have leased within Airbnb. Likewise, you can find out information regarding their work, if they have pets, details regarding where they live or even the type of food they cook.
The platform also ensures that all available options will display information regarding whether or not the room has a lock, whether the bathrooms are shared and whether there are more people in the house besides the host. In summary, the resource is part of an action by the app to make hosting costs cheaper.
In general, the functionality brings the application closer to its origins and a price filter will be implemented to search for cheaper hosting options, in addition to dealing with the issue of values in a more transparent way. The news will arrive on the platform next week.
