Malaysia’s 4-month-old baby girl Nokasi was suspected of being abused by her nanny. In an interview with the media, her father Mohd Farizwan pointed out that he received a call from the 25-year-old nanny at 5:45 pm last Wednesday, saying that his daughter was twisting. There was a “bang” sound when moving, and it was immediately discovered that his right thigh was fractured. However, doctors believed that the fracture was not caused by a sprain or a fall, but by forceful twisting, and suspected that the baby girl was abused by her nanny.

“Sin Chew Daily” reported that Mohd Farizwan said, “The nanny made a dramatic sound when she called her. My wife and I immediately rushed to the nanny’s house and took our daughter to a private specialist in Bandar Bangi. The hospital received diagnosis and treatment, but following X-ray examination, the doctor said that the fracture was not caused by a sprain or a fall, but by a forceful twisting, and further showed me how my daughter might have broken the fracture.”

He said the doctor then recommended that his daughter be sent to Serdang Hospital for further treatment, and the doctor at the hospital also said the same thing and said that his daughter had been abused. “My daughter has been discharged from the hospital and is recovering at home. This is not the first time a similar situation has occurred. In the two months since she was under the care of the nanny, her daughter was found to have bruises on both sides of her cheeks on October 17, but the nanny argued that it was a collision. It was caused by the bracelet, so I took my daughter to see a doctor at the time, and the doctor told her that the bruises were believed to be caused by pressure, but I didn’t raise any suspicion at that time.”

He pointed out that he had reported to the police regarding his daughter’s broken leg. He has not yet contacted the nanny directly, but he plans to take legal action once morest her. “I am saddened and disappointed regarding what happened to my daughter and hope that this matter will be made public to sensitize parents regarding the safety of their babies and understand the risks of placing their children in the care of others.”

On the other hand, Sepang District Police Chief Assistant Superintendent Wang Kamalu confirmed that the police had received a report from the father of the baby girl on the 15th of this month and are currently investigating the case. He said that the police had taken the nanny’s statement and following completing the investigation, the investigation report would be submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor to decide on the next step.
