Babies’ cries will soon be able to be translated, a small revolution

You don’t understand why your baby is crying? This application may be able to help you “translate” what your newborn wants to tell you.

Capella presents at CES 2024, a technological innovation show in Las Vegas, its application using artificial intelligence and machine learning to determine the meaning of baby cries. Indeed, it has been proven that a baby does not cry in the same way if he is hungry, if he is tired, or if he needs to be changed.

How it works ? It’s very simple: you need two smartphones. One that will be stationed near your baby to listen to him, like a baby monitor, and another that you will keep with you, which will receive notifications when your child cries, “translating” to you what he needs.

But that’s not Capella’s only feature. It also offers to film your baby live with the smartphone next to him, so you can check that everything is going well. It is also possible to monitor all of your little darling’s activities in the application: their meal times, when their diaper was last changed, their sleeping time, etc.

Unfortunately, not all of its features are free and require a subscription of $10 per month. Currently, the app is only available in the United States.
