DIRECTORATE OF Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) Regional Police (Polda) Bangka Belitung (Babel) succeeded in thwarting the smuggling of 8 tons of tin sand from Belitung Island.
Direskrimsus Polda Babel, Chief Commissioner (Kombes) Jojo Sutarjo, confirmed that he had confiscated a truck containing 8 tons of tin sand on Wednesday (16/10) early morning.
“Yes, that’s right, a truck containing 8 tons of tin sand was secured at Sadai Harbor, Sadai Village, Tukak Sadai District, South Bangka Regency. Early Wednesday morning,” said the Director of Criminal Investigation, Thursday (17/10).

Apart from securing 1 truck, a person carrying the car with the initials ZA alias Rudi, 42, a resident from Lesung Batang Village, Belitung, was also arrested.
“The ZA truck driver was arrested and has been named a suspect,” he said.
According to Jojo, his party is still investigating the origin and owner of the 8 tons of tin. “It’s still in the lyrics who owns it,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Babel Police, Commissioner Fauzan Sukmawansyah, said that the disclosure of this case started with public information received by the Ditreskrimsus Polda Babel.
“Information states that there was transportation of tin sand by 1 truck from Tanjung Ru Port, Belitung Regency, to Sadai Port, South Bangka Regency,” said Fauzan.
Receiving this information, members of Sub-Directorate IV of the Criminal Investigation Directorate provided security for 1 truck and the truck driver.
Then the truck driver and the evidence were taken to the Babel Regional Police Headquarters for further investigation. (RF/J-3).
