The World Cup winners were Australia, who beat Pakistan in the semi-finals to reach the final. Australia reached the final by defeating Pakistan by five wickets. With six balls to spare, Australia chased down Pakistan’s 177-run target. Matthew Wade and Marcus Stones, who put in excellent performances in the final overs, gave Australia an easy victory.

Batting first, Pakistan scored 176 for four in 20 overs with the help of half-centuries from Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman. Rizwan was Pakistan’s top scorer with 67 off 52 balls. Fakhar Zaman was unbeaten on 55 off 32 balls while skipper Babur Assam scored 39. Mitchell Starc took two wickets and Adam Sampa took one for Australia. Australia defeated Pakistan by 16 runs in a row in the UAE.
