Outstandingly performing gauchos, weak Italians: This is how the Finalissima, which took place on Wednesday in London’s Wembley Stadium, can be summed up between Argentina and England.

With a strong performance, the Argentine national team, which traveled to England as the reigning South American champions, prevailed in a duel with European champions Italy. Argentina won 3-0 at the Finalissima at London’s Wembley Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The goals were scored by Lautaro Martinez (28′), Angel Di Maria (45’+1′) and Paulo Dybala (94′), who had just come on as a substitute. In addition to Di Maria, superstar Lionel Messi, who scored goals from Martinez and Dybala, also impressed at the Albiceleste.

The two free-playing offensive artists from French champions Paris Saint-Germain kept their club colleague Gianluigi Donnarumma busy almost constantly. The goalkeeper was the strongest player for the Italians, with veteran defender Giorgio Chiellini making his last team appearance in the first half. Before the 2-0, the 37-year-old lost the decisive running duel with Di Maria, who then overran Donnarumma.
