Azule Energy awards several contracts to develop the Agogo oil field

(Ecofin Agency) – Recently, Azule Energy had awarded two contracts to the oil services companies Yinson and Saipem in connection with the development activities of the offshore block 15/06.

Azule Energy, an independent joint venture which combines the operations of BP and Eni in Angola, announced on Monday (February 27th) the award of four contracts as part of the development works of the western section of the producing Agogo field. , an oil perimeter located in block 15/06, off the coast of the country.

All of these contracts, valued at 7.8 billion dollars, primarily benefit the companies TechnipFMC and Subsea 7. These companies will be responsible respectively for supplying a range of risers and flowlines which will be transported and then installed project.

These contracts then benefit the companies Aker Solutions and Baker Hughes, each of which will make available to the block’s stakeholders an umbilical system as well as an underwater production device, the maintenance of which will also be provided.

These awards include two other contracts awarded in recent weeks to Yinson and Saipem. They target an optimization of the block’s oil production from the Agogo and Ndungu fields to reach a peak of 175,000 bopd by 2026. Thus, 36 new wells will be drilled by then to achieve this goal.

“The signing of these contracts marks the start of a new wave of major investment in Angola’s offshore, and will result in high-value activities for the country’s oil and gas industry. This project also represents an important contribution to increasing the country’s oil production.”said Adriano Mongini, CEO of Azule Energy.
