The PP of Aragon changes its mind: Azcón demands the resignation of Casado and bets on Núñez Feijóo

The president of the Popular Party in Aragon and mayor of Zaragoza, Jorge Azcón, has demanded the dismissal of Pablo Casado and the holding of an extraordinary congress of this formation at the national level, “that ends this stage and opens a new one”.

It will be he who transfers this position in the meeting that the leader of the PP, Pablo Casado, has called this Wednesday with the territorial ‘barons’ of the formation to bring positions closer to the national congress that he intends to convene next Monday, at the meeting of the National Board of Directors.

Azcón has put forward that the PP Aragón wants to contribute solutions to the party, “with humility”, but also “decisively and quickly” and for that he has opted to hold an extraordinary congress.

Azcón has hoped that a unanimous position of the party will be achieved, “thinking regarding the important responsibility it has” and the role “it has played and will continue to play in Spain”, a new stage “that installs the PP ruling in all and each one of the institutions, not for the PP, but for the good of the Aragonese and the Spanish”.

The regional ‘popular’ leader has said that they are committed to “a solution of unity, not of factions, of groups, of sectors; we cannot afford that, we need to unite the party, heal some of the wounds that have occurred these days and the PP de Aragón is going to be in the solution, not in creating problems”.

The leader of the PP in Aragon has considered that Pablo Casado has offered “a lot to the party” and last Thursday he expressed his support because the accusations of espionage from Genoa “did not correspond to reality”, “but now the political moment is different and we need an extraordinary congress to renew the leadership of the party”.

Regarding the possibility that the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, opt for the national leadership of the PP, Azcón has commented that she herself has “emphatically” expressed her desire to continue as head of the Presidency of the Community of Madrid , where “he is doing very well”.

Regarding the possible leadership of the president of Galicia, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, he has indicated that he is a “reference” and a “value” at this time, “the territorial leader in Europe who can best prove the success of the policy” since “he has four absolute majorities behind him”, which he has achieved regardless of “whether the winds blow in favor or once morest the PP” and “in extraordinarily complicated moments”.

“Nobody in Spain has the CV of Núñez Feijóo, possibly nobody in Europe”, nor his “baggage”. “This is not an assessment, it is a fact”, Azcón has sentenced, although there may be those who “do not see it”.
