AZ Youth: Good away wins Under 13 and Under 14

ZAANSTAD – Almost all teams of the AZ Youth Academy had a successful round of play on Saturday. For example, AZ Under 11 and Under 14 managed to achieve a victory over Ajax, the Under 12 and Under 13 returned to the bus to Zaanstad with three points and the matches with PSV had mixed results.

AZ Under 18 – PSV 2-1 (1-0)
AZ Under 18 achieved a hard-fought victory over PSV. The team of coach Michael van Zijtveld defeated the Eindhoven team 2-1 following a beautiful goal in the final phase of the match. Click here for the full match report.


PSV – AZ Onder 16 0-0 (0-0)
AZ Under 16 only managed one point in the confrontation with PSV. At De Herdgang in Eindhoven the match ended as it started: 0-0.

The duel between numbers two and three was an even battle in everything. Small chances were created on both sides, but were mainly lacking in the final phase. After eighty minutes the score was still on the scoreboard in Eindhoven: 0-0.

AZ Under 15 – PSV 0-3 (0-1)
AZ Under 15 lost to PSV on Saturday followingnoon. The score was 0-3 for the visitors from Eindhoven at their own AFAS Training Complex.

The match had an even opening phase with attacking intentions on both sides. After fifteen minutes of play the first big chance came for the home team. Jahmael Ampofo cut inside and looked for the far corner. The ball went just over the Eindhoven goal.

From that moment on, AZ had the better game and created another great chance. Winger Nuur Mahamed Ahmed put the ball back to Ties Kemna. The attacking midfielder tried with a placed shot on the edge of the sixteen-meter area, but such an attempt was saved by the Eindhoven goalie.

Despite a stronger AZ, the opening goal came from PSV, following a low cross was shot in. However, the home team continued to put a lot of pressure and regularly looked for attacks. As a result, AZ midfielder Cas Klop, following the Eindhoven defense lost the ball, got a chance in the sixteen-meter area. However, this effort also went just over the goal and the first half ended 0-1.

At the start of the second act, the visitors managed to double their lead: 0-2. A few minutes following conceding the goal, the home team seemed to score the tying goal. The Eindhoven goalkeeper lost the ball under pressure, following which striker Donny van der Lijcke scored. At the same time, however, the referee decided to stop the game due to an injury and the Alkmaar goal did not count.

In the remainder of the second half, opportunities were scarce and AZ, despite attacking play, fell just short in the final phase. On the other side a goal was scored. A hard shot on the edge of the sixteen-meter area ended up behind AZ keeper Quenten Attigah and the game ended 0-3.

Ajax – AZ Under 14 1-3 (0-3)
AZ Under 14 recorded a nice away win over competitor Ajax. In the capital, Juryan van Zandvliet’s team was too strong for the Amsterdam team with 1-3.

From the first whistle, the Alkmaarders showed that they had come for three points. After only eleven minutes of play, it was number eleven, Mawulom Gota-Toudji who scored the opening goal: 0-1.

Moments later the visitors managed to double their lead. On a pass from Merijn van Dijk, striker Charly van Oosterhout scored the second goal of the match and put his team at 0-2. Just before half time, Van Dijk was once more involved in a goal. This time he was accurate himself, following receiving the ball from Abutalib Hamid Mohammad. This made it 0-3. In the second act the home team managed to give something back, but AZ would not relinquish the lead and the game ended 1-3.

sc Heerenveen – AZ Under 13 2-6 (2-2)

AZ Under 13 also achieved an away win. Dico Blei’s team defeated SC Heerenveen 2-6 following a convincing second half.

The game was only eight minutes old when the home team opened the scoring. However, the Alkmaarders’ response followed almost immediately, following Dinar Ait Errami scored the 1-1 on a pass from Musie Mesfun. Less than five minutes later, the same Ait Errami scored his second goal from a free kick and gave his team a 2-1 lead. In the final phase of the first half, the Frisians leveled once more through a penalty kick.

In the second act the game picture was completely different and AZ rolled over the Heerenveners. Shortly following half-time, Ait Errami completed his hat trick and the visitors took the lead once more: 2-3. A little later, Jip de Flart also scored with a free kick and the score became 2-5 via Bentley Addai. The final score went to Ait Errami who scored his fourth goal of the match, ending the match 2-6.

AZ Under 12 took three points from Rotterdam by beating Excelsior. At Sportpark Woudestein, the team of trainers Tim Appel and Ivar de Boer played on two different fields. The combined scores, 2-6 and 0-4, ultimately resulted in a 2-10 victory.
