At the first corner following the start, an accident occurred in the top group, and the positions changed rapidly. Ayumu Iwasa managed to avoid this accident and climbed up to 7th for a while, but when he tried to overtake the car in front of him, he went off the track for a while and allowed the following to pass, and finished the first lap in 9th. . Some machines stopped due to this accident, the safety car was introduced on the second lap, and the race restarted on the fourth lap.

It was a difficult course to overtake, and they ran in a close formation until the end of the race. On the 23rd lap, the pace of the leading cars slowed down as the tires got tighter, and Ayumu Iwasa overtook them and moved up to 8th. In the final stages, Ayumu Iwasa, who was aiming to improve his position, put pressure on the car in front, but failed to overtake and finished 8th. He finished 8th in the sprint race and added 1 point. Iwasa scored points for five races in a row.

“Overall, it was a difficult race,” commented Ayumu Iwasa.

“As expected, it was difficult to overtake when I was behind, and the graining of the tires got worse. At the start, I was able to avoid the accident at the first corner and gained a position, but then I got stuck in front and went into the second corner. When I was trying to overtake from the outside, I delayed my braking and ended up going a little outside the white line, and following that I was passed by two cars.”

“During the race, we paid attention to tire management, and I think it was not bad, but the graining of the tires was quite bad. We had a better pace than the cars in front of us in the final stages, but we weren’t able to overtake.”

“The feature race will start from pole position, but you never know what will happen in the race, so we will do our best to be fully prepared and give our best.”
