Pakistani talented senior actor Ayub Khoso says that the drama industry has become a joke these days, with an unprofessional attitude.
Recently, Ayub Khoso appeared as a guest on a private TV channel program. In the show, he openly expressed his thoughts on the unprofessional behavior of the drama industry.
During the interview, the host asked the actor about the past and present situation of the drama industry, to which the actor replied that nowadays there is a lot of joke with the artists that they go on the sets but they don’t know that. What scene to do today?
He said that an unprofessional attitude has been adopted in the drama industry, the associate or assistant on the set only knows how many scenes are to be recorded today, they do not understand the quality of the scene. Have or need, they only care about numbers.
Ayub Khoso said that once I was in a producer’s room and the assistant came there and said that we have recorded 15 scenes out of 18 today, so the producer was not worried about the scenes that had been recorded. How and after what difficulties were recorded, he only cared about the remaining scenes.
The senior actor said that today it is not the actors themselves who are responsible for unprofessional behavior but the environment has become such, of course there are still good performers but the majority are those who believe in quantity.

**Interview with Ayub Khoso on the Current State of the Pakistani Drama Industry**
**Host:** Welcome, Ayub Khoso! Thank you for joining us today. You recently shared some strong views about the current state of the Pakistani drama industry. Can you elaborate on what you meant by saying it has become “a joke”?
**Ayub Khoso:** Thank you for having me. Yes, I believe the industry has adopted a rather unprofessional attitude. When I look at how things are running today, it’s concerning. Artists arrive on set without a clear idea of what scenes they are supposed to perform. It feels like a production line focused solely on quantity over quality.
**Host:** That sounds quite alarming. You mentioned that even the assistants on set are only focused on how many scenes to shoot rather than the artistic integrity of those scenes. Can you give us an example of what you’ve witnessed?
**Ayub Khoso:** Certainly. I recall being in a producer’s office when an assistant proudly announced that they had recorded 15 out of 18 scenes for the day. The producer’s only concern was the number, not how those scenes were executed or the challenges faced during filming. This illustrates the prevailing mindset—it’s not about telling a good story but churning out as many scenes as possible.
**Host:** Given your extensive experience, who do you think is responsible for this shift towards such a quantity-driven approach?
**Ayub Khoso:** While I think the environment has played a significant role, it’s not purely the fault of the actors. There are still dedicated and talented performers out there, but the majority seem to prioritize the number of scenes over the artistry involved. It’s a collective issue that needs urgent addressing from all stakeholders in the industry.
**Host:** It’s clear that you are passionate about this topic, Ayub. Do you think there’s hope for a turnaround in the industry?
**Ayub Khoso:** I certainly hope so. I believe there are many who still value quality storytelling and artistry within our craft. Change is possible if we start emphasizing these values again, rather than just pumping out content.
**Host:** Thank you for sharing your insights. Now, to our viewers, what do you think about Ayub Khoso’s revelations regarding the Pakistani drama industry? Is the focus on quantity overshadowing quality in today’s dramas? Share your thoughts and join the debate!
