“Axelle Red who manages to sing worse than Renaud”: the duo resumes their Manhattan-Kabul cult hit and divides internet users

“Bistros are my life, entrusted Renaud on May 5 to RTL France, who ended up getting up following his long descent into hell. A place of conviviality, meeting, sharing where we remake the world. For a year and a half, I no longer drink a drop of alcohol. I am particularly satisfied.”

To celebrate the return of the Phoenix, his new album and his birthday, France 2 had therefore concocted a great prime time this Tuesday evening. Still standing, the interpreter of morgan of you et winner Mistral was treated to a host of guests. Several stars of the song have indeed succeeded on stage to interpret the emblematic titles of his career. Calogero, Patrick Bruel, Zaz, Claire Keim, Vincent Delerm, Raphaël, Dave, Tryo, Renan Luce, Gauvain Sers, Benoît Dorémus and Noé Preszow, or even Joyce Jonathan… A beautiful tribute, just like his daughter Lolita’s magneto Sechan (“Happy birthday my papua that I love”) for which he did not dry his tears. Among all these guests, only the Belgian Axelle Red seems to have disappointed viewers. In question? His performance on Manhattan-Kabul, a cult duet with Renaud on the attacks of September 11, 2001 and the second war in Afghanistan, which did not convince.

“What a massacre”; “She sings out of tune”

According to Internet users, even if some seemed happy to see them together on stage or believe that the Belgian singer was at the level of his friend, the duo was not up to it vocally. “In front of #happybirthdayrenaud, and to see that Axelle Red sings even worse than Renaud… Mdr…”, can we read in particular on Twitter. “What is Axelle Red’s excuse for this carnage?”. But also: “Renaud has unfortunately been ill for a while and tonight he seems quite well, but Axelle Red what a disappointment“; Axelle Red who manages to sing worse than Renaud : I did not expect that ! #Help!”. Or: “Renaud no longer sings, he speaks and Axel Red what a shipwreck, not a single note of justice…”; “What a massacre this pretty song, Renaud no longer has a voice and Axelle Red sings out of tune. Where have our good years gone?”
