Amazon intends to provide an infrastructure that allows companies to develop their own chatbots and other applications using artificial intelligence.

This is announced by Amazon Web Services (AWS) through a press release. In doing so, Amazon is following in the footsteps of other big tech firms in the AI race. But unlike Microsoft for example, which has invested a lot of money in the well-known ChatGPT, Amazon itself does not rely on a specific chatbot, but rather opts for support.

The company is launching a new suite of technologies, including a language model called Titan and a new cloud computing service called Bedrock. These technologies are intended to help other companies create their own chatbots and image generators. Among other things, Amazon has set up a platform of AI tools from third-party players, where customers can test different applications.

Infrastructure

AWS has been focusing on the infrastructure component of AI for some time now. At the end of last year, the company announced, for example, a platform where customers, without specific training, might experiment with machine learning. Creating and training a solid AI model requires heaps of data and computing power, points that AWS as a cloud platform intends to address. In this sense, the new offer is reminiscent of the projects of competitor Nvidia, which announced last month also cloud services for the development of AI models.
