awesome “fireplace” wallpapers for iPhone and iPad

2024-01-15 10:20:01

Jim Gresham, editor for our colleagues at iDownloadblog.com, regularly makes selections of wallpapers on a specific theme, Christmas, candle, storm, etc. Most of the time, the chosen images come from the platform Unsplashfrom which you can download images for free (and without fear for usage rights, especially since this is a very specific personal use: the wallpaper for your smartphone).

On Unsplash, we find, it is true, superb photographs, which sometimes perfectly blends into the background of the iPhone or iPad. For example, this recent selection by Jim Gresham on the theme of fireplace :

How to get one of these “fireplace” wallpapers

Surrender go to this link in Safari, then choose the wallpaper that suits you best. Open the chosen image by clicking on the big blue “Download” button below. Then :

On iPhone and iPad

  • Long press on the image, then choose “Save to Photos”
  • go to the Photos app and on the wallpaper, tap the “Share” icon before finally choosing “Use as wallpaper”

From a Mac:

  • Do right click > Save image as… and choose the destination or Save image to “Downloads”
  • Open your Mac’s settings, “Wallpaper” section in macOS Ventura or “Desktop and screen saver” in an older version of macOS
  • Drag the wallpaper file from Finder onto the current wallpaper image, or add the folder containing the new wallpaper using the “Add Folder…” button in macOS Ventura or the “+” button under an older version of macOS

Namely: in Safari, right-click on the desired image and “Use the image as desktop image” to go even faster. This also works in Finder by right-clicking on the downloaded image file.
