The actress Sandra Hüller receives the Hannelore Elsner Prize 2022, which is endowed with 5,000 euros. “There are no two opinions regarding Sandra Hüller’s outstanding acting skills. She has shone in films and on stage for decades,” explained the director of the Upper Bavarian Five Lakes Film Festival, Matthias Helwig, the election on Tuesday.
“Like hardly any other actress, she manages to subtly convey many hidden, conflicting emotions beneath the surface of her characters. Many of her films cannot be imagined with a different cast.”
Huller (“Toni Erdmann”, “Requiem”) will accept the award at an event on the final evening of this year’s festival. The 16th Five Lakes Film Festival runs from August 24th to September 4th. The Hannelore-Elsner-Prize has been awarded since 2019 for outstanding achievements by German-speaking actresses and went before Hüller to Barbara Auer, Nina Hoss and Birgit Minichmayr. (apa/dpa)
