Two events will be held in London to pay tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the renowned Pakistani musician and who gave a new dimension to the art of music, including Qawwali, on his 25th death anniversary.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s 25th birth anniversary was celebrated on August 16, 2022 at his final resting place in his hometown Faisalabad.
The anniversary ceremony was attended by his disciple and nephew Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and other well-wishers.
On this occasion, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan announced that there will be celebrations in London on August 30, 2022 to pay tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
He said that two events will be held in London. One at Oxford University and the venue of the other event will be announced later.’
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan said that ‘We have demanded from every government to allocate land to build an academy in the memory of Khan Sahib.’
This is our legitimate demand. We understand what the country’s conditions are, but sometimes they will also remember the heroes of the country. An academy should be made based on this memory.’

Khadim of the shrine Mohammad Rafiq Gohar while talking to Independent Urdu said that he also had the honor of being the first student of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, though he could not sing much.
Rafiq said that it has been 25 years since Khan Sahib left us. We cannot forget their trauma, but we have to live, life has to be lived.’
Rafiq said that the foundation stone of Nazirat Fateh Ali Khan’s mausoleum was laid by Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan on January 3, 2021 and it was completed under his supervision in about a year and a half.
