Dr. Muhammad Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health Affairs and Prevention, said that when the health sector detected a case of monkeypox, it was announced directly, stressing that it is possible that other monkeypox cases will appear.
He added, during a telephone interview with the media, Syed Ali, through her program, Honorable Citizen, that monkeypox is similar to the ancient disease of smallpox, pointing out that there is monkeypox disease in some African countries.
He added that monkeypox is similar to an epidemic, but in small numbers, commenting: “The symptoms of the disease appear as heat, cold, spread and rashes that start in the face and end in the rest of the body.”
He explained that 99% of the cases that were monitored for the disease through sexual contact, multi-sexual relations, friction and direct contact, stressing that the case that was monitored with monkeypox is frequent in one of the European countries.
