The cars are produced by order of the Social Insurance Fund, said Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.
“We already have an existing program for the sale of such machines, I mean a consolidated order from the Social Insurance Fund,” Manturov emphasized in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the auto giant spoke about two of its models specially designed for disabled people. The first modification is a special version of the Lada Granta, where gear changes are performed using hands.
Another retrofitted model is the Lada Largus, complemented by a special ramp that helps a person in a wheelchair enter the car. This station wagon is also equipped with a modified rear bumper.
